If you made 2:1, you can start from consulting firms (who don’t care about course) and gain experience in certain fields like accounting, HR etc and move to oil company as experienced hire in your area of experience (not course). I had accountant colleagues that studied agriculture, microbiology etc and they came in with accounting experience in consulting firms (Big X to be specific). 

Not as easy though. You will be competing with a lot of people for few spaces, so don’t be too fixated on oil & gas. Explore elsewhere too. But it is possible.
