Citigroup is re-entering the ultra‑premium credit card space with a new offering aimed at competing directly with cards like the @AmericanExpress Platinum.

🆕 Citi Strata Elite (Q3 launch)

Release timeframe: Expected in the third quarter of 2025, per @Citi’s recent earnings presentation 

Called “Strata Elite,” it’s designed to complement Citi’s existing proprietary rewards lineup and take on high-end competitors.

Citi hasn’t released specifics on the annual fee, rewards structure, or perks. Those details are still under wraps .

This move arrives as major issuers refresh their premium offerings—Chase recently upgraded the Sapphire Reserve, and Amex is set to revamp its Platinum card 

Citi hasn’t had a true premium card since the Prestige product was discontinued in mid‑2021
