Dude we (the US consumer) pay the tarrifs. The US company (Best Buy, Walmart Macy’s Target etc) pays the tariffs straight to the US government when the imported items reach our port. An item at a cost of $XX to sell for $XX now is $XX with the tariff so the retailer needs to raise the price to us to $XX in order to stay in biz and not layoff anyone.
