"Mainnet upgrades" for me sounds like core features (which are good but unrelated to connectivity to "the world") Low TVL = bad trading experience (high price impact). Also Low TVL = Low volumes and fees = less revenue for many projects. Lack of seamless bridges is what I believe to be the root cause for Low TVL"
