"Imagine a different standard coming out of nowhere to render EUV obsolete. Paradigm shift risk. In the past there was no pressure at all on anyone to develop an alternative to $ASML either through replicate-innovation or creation of something new. Now that pressure exists. Also China has large enough networks to adopt and spread a new standard (or multiple). And it's large enough to play host to a game of thrones or a tech spring & autumn period for those standards to complete with each other"
