"Both Shamet and Diawara will shift to non-guaranteed contracts. But contracts now begin incurring a per-day cap/tax/apron hit. They'll both fully guarantee on Jan. XX. By my math NY has about $148K left under the second apron. So it'll be around April 2nd for a vet minimum signing. That will increase if Shamet or Diawara is waived but they'd need replaced to get NY back to XX players eventually. A trade could also free up more room under their hard cap too"

"Common question here Teams with less than XX players can carry up to three two-way players. However instead of those two-way players being capped at XXX active NBA games (up to a max of XX games for each two-way spot) the team can have two-way players active for a max of only XX NBA games. When a team fills their 15th spot the calculation reverts back to XXX total games active for two-way players. By then the amount of two-way games will have also prorated accordingly"
