"The original theory of depression that it was caused by too little serotonin and dopamine was too simplistic that's why raising it didn't work in most people. The brain is extremely complex and there are hundreds of different neurotransmitters so it's incredibly challenging to pinpoint the exact cause and cure"

That's their purpose. They are a lifeline. The same can be said with cancer. We know how cancer works how it replicates yet it's incredibly difficult to cure. This is peer-reviewed scientific literature. This isn't something I've made up. This is something that's agreed upon by millions of medical professionals around the world"

"With drugs you are not applying "just a band aid". These are life-saving medications. Doctors prescribe them in worst-case scenario when nothing else has worked. If the person is so down that they don't want to live anymore and have trier therapy tried changing their lifestyle and yet nothing has worked. Would you recommend they just "switch up their environment". It's easier said than done. Additionally they aren't intended for lifetime-use that is up to the patient's discretion. You act like they put them on these drugs for life when they don't"
