"Not even a month after suffering a pair of downgrades while former "PIGS" peers Italy and Spain were upgraded France gets an unscheduled downgrade from S&P Global Ratings the same day that Italy regained its highest score from any major credit assessor since 2018 after an upgrade by Morningstar DBRS. S&P cut France to A+ from AA- saying that the countrys budget uncertainty remains elevated despite the submission of a 2025 draft budget. The downgrade means France has lost its double-A rating at two of the three major credit assessors in little more than a month potentially forcing some funds"
