"$SATS $MDALF: Charlie Ergen with a new gambit to try to buy more time w/ FCC Chair Brendan Carr. All of Echostar's AWS-3 and AWS-4 spectrum was supposed to be built out by Jun / Oct 2025 which was then extended to Dec 2026 and then finally Jun 2028. Echostar plans to start deploying this proposed D2D constellation in 2028 w/ commercial service in 2029. This is past the FCC's final deadline of June 2028. The total cost of mfg the satellites is $2.5B and maybe another $1-2B for launch As a reminder is highly leveraged with $29.5B of debt and its primary satellite Pay-TV business hemorrhaging"
