"Its not about whether stocks beat gold or vice versa the fact that its even close should be alarming. XX years of progress innovation reinvested retained earnings tax cuts. It shouldnt be close but it is. My turn to cherry pick: Gold has gone from $XX to $4048 since XX (up 115x) and S&P went from XXX to 6553 (up 60x). Yeah I know I didnt include dividends (or lending income for gold). Ive done that math before S&P wins. But thats not my point It should be a blow out for stocks but its closer than it should be. And there are long periods where Gold wins even after dividends such as the last 27"
