A 5-year-old girl escaped a Hilliard, Florida, home on Thursday, July 24, leading authorities to three deceased women & a nearly-dead suspect in a suspected triple murder-suicide. The girl ran to a neighbor's house, "banging on the door and stated the suspect had killed others inside the home." Deputies responded around 8:00 PM to a possible shooting at a home on West 12th Avenue. They found one woman deceased in blood between the living room & dining room. A man, later identified as Christopher Bobby Rowell, 34, was found in the living room in a puddle of blood with an SKS-style XXXX caliber assault rifle next to him. Deputies then found a second woman in the hallway bathroom "with blood and brain splatter all over the wall and the floor," & a third woman "lying in a pool of blood" in a bedroom. The three women were "obviously deceased." Rowell, however, "had a slight pulse" & was airlifted to a Jacksonville hospital. Investigators believe Rowell first shot one woman, then the second in the bathroom, & the third in the bedroom, before returning to the living room to shoot himself in the head. The incident is considered a domestic incident. As of Friday, Rowell was "clinically deceased," & his organs were to be harvested. The victims' names were not released, but all were related adults.
