Genuine question. Have you ever traded options before? Because that’s exactly what these funds are doing, the only difference is you’re paying an expense ratio for a company to handle it for you. It's no different than paying an expense ratio for an index fund like $VOO from Vanguard. They manage that fund but with a different purpose.
