@MistraleroX @mcsquared34 No, it doesn't. Suppose I borrow $XXXXX using my credit card to buy a new oven. Over the next few months, I  pay off the debt using my wage income. At no point do I get a pay raise. But I successfully pay off the debt.

Why do you say this requires growth, when it doesn't?
