A lot of similar businesses popped up during Covid when e-prescription writing was allowed on controlled substances like ADHD meds, and everyone had access with little vetting. Now that controlled substance prescription regs are back to normal, those guys exited after making millions while $HIMS stuck to destroying your T levels in the name of saving hair. Oh, and they also write you scripts for GLP-1s, which will probably come out in the future as one of the most detrimental drugs to be mass prescribed over the past decade. $HIMS is merely a pay to play doctor that owns the retail side as well. You go to them because you already know what drug(s) you want, you just need someone to write the script for you with as little friction as possible. Unless they perform a massive pivot, I can’t see them doing well without legal scrutiny from government bodies over the next XX years. I think JUUL is a great parallel example of a leader in a new space that was heavily targeted by the federal government and didn’t do a lot of moral wrong.
