🌐 Let’s start with a fundamental issue: 𝒈𝒍𝒐𝒃𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒛𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏. Today, a significant portion of the revenue generated by U.S.-listed companies comes from outside the United States. Giants like Apple $AAPL , Microsoft $MSFT and Coca-Cola $KO earn a substantial chunk of their income overseas. Yet, the GDP figure in the denominator only captures domestic economic output. This mismatch — comparing global market value to a domestic economic measure — distorts the ratio and inflates perceptions of overvaluation.
