My own NPC mother just attacked me in such a way, as to make it impossible to defend my ascension companion, who she also attacked, at the same time. Even as powerful as I am, no amount of psychic maneuvering could overcome her. The ones closest to you, are your handlers and they are specially designed to hurt you the worst.
