This analysis is specific to Ferrari, I won't be covering the other cars. Note that Russell did his fastest lap on the medium. 🟥 -The usual low speed under performance, which is still persistent. Losing X tenths collectively at the exit of La Source and Bus stop chicane. The car is incredibly rear limited in the low speed corners. - Pouhon T10 is a massive cause for concern in my opinion. As I noted during the session, there seemed to be a lot of roll bottoming in this corner. The poor performance in my opinion does not stem from a lack of downforce, but just terrible driveability. It is missing XX kph in T10, and they are having to lift the throttle a lot. A X tenth lost in such a high speed corner, to me, is a cause of concern. -It is again missing another XX kph in T12, however it's the 2nd quickest car through that turn, a massive deficit that separates McLaren to the rest. -The car looked incredibly low to the ground, far more than others. Obviously, they are trying as much as they can to maximize the performance, probably testing a few things with the new rear suspension. My opinion is that it probably can't continue running like this, they will have to raise it, but I am only guessing based on visuals not on data. Typically, raising the car doesn't result in better performance. So make of that what you will, but take it with a grain of salt until GPQ. -In terms of where it sits in the speed traps, I would say it is where I expect it to be. Red Bull running essentially a Monza spec wing so they will be decisively quicker than the other cars. I think Max can take the fight to at least one McLaren in SPQ given it stays dry. McLaren's top speed deficit is hardly a hindrance give its immense high speed performance. Personally, I don't expect massive leaps for Ferrari in the speed traps from what we see here. -Unlike the Mercedes and Red Bull, there are no corners where Ferrari gains time on McLaren. It's only gains are on the straights, and it's rather marginal. Note that Lewis and Charles ran two different DRS flaps, Lewis the more trimmed one, so I wouldn't be surprised if he was slightly quicker on the straights.
