My wife and I spent half that at peak. Even including insurance in "cars" category never got close to $1600. $1000 on food is absurd. I have a family of X. Our groceries are $450/mo tops. Often $XXX. Family also makes $250k and we still don't hit these values. We also never eat out. That's $450/mo for X home cooked meals a day. Mortgage is sadly true. We are at $2k/mo for a 15yr, but 2.5%. We save earnestly so we spend like we make <$80k apparently.
