This means creditors usually cannot seize 401(k) funds to satisfy personal debts (there are exceptions, like IRS levies, divorce settlements, & criminal restitution). This applies to these assets even AFTER you have left your job and they have been transferred to an IRA, btw. So your spot / cold storage bitcoin? Yeah. They can take that. But they can’t take your $IBIT or $MSTR shares held in a 401(k). This isn’t important until it’s suddenly very, very important. *Also, Roth ERISA vehicles accrue tax free.* Don’t take financial advice from children.
