It also wouldn't cost $81b because you're buying into the controlling equity... it'd cost XX% of that... but you could also hedges or use debt financing to get control of that equity so it's much more complex. You could also rally other existing shareholders that would bring down the cost quite a bit... If the validators were slashed theres some interesting legal/moral questions that arise.
