Incredible insight.
Yes -- I very, very often feel like I "don't get it." I'll cause trouble in social circles, or lose friends, having zero idea what I have done wrong.

I've often asked: "do people take a class on this stuff? How do they know The Rules??"

So I can really only hang with dropouts and misfits, and in lieu of those, I can really only be a hermit. The window during which I might've "learned The Rules" has passed; it's just an insane and ridiculous effort to constantly walk on eggshells not knowing whether what I am doing is "correct."

That's the "outlaw" mentality in a nutshell
