I just wanted to thank everyone that liked and shared this post, as well as those who reached out to their representatives.

The House Appropriations Subcommittee on Financial Services and General Government completed its 2026 budget markup and included $5m for the National Historic Records and Publications Commission.

That's enough to keep Founders Online, and the public's access to our founding history, online and free for every American to access.

Lots of historians say that the "past is a foreign country." And, while there is certainly a huge degree of change over time - one continuity is the ability of anonymous shitposters to help get things done. Let the argument, and not the person, reign supreme.
