Finely chop the dates and add them to a mug with baking soda and hot water. X. Microwave for 30-45 seconds. The dates should be very soft. X. Add melted butter and mash with a fork. X. Add self raising flour, brown sugar and egg and mix thoroughly. X. Clean the edges then place in a microwave for XX seconds to X minute and XX seconds. The top should be firm but not dry. Set it aside to cool. X. Add all the butterscotch ingredients to a bowl and microwave for 40-60 seconds, until hot and bubbling, then mix thoroughly. X.
