Amir Khan Muttaqi, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, held a phone conversation with Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al-Khulaifi, Minister of State at Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to discuss Afghanistan-Qatar relations, the return of XX Afghans from Germany, and the recent waves of migrant returns.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Muttaqi thanked Qatar for its cooperation and expressed hope that the returning Afghans would be able to resume normal lives with the support of humanitarian organizations.

The statement quoted the Qatari minister as saying that Afghanistan holds a special place in Qatar’s foreign policy and that Qatar will continue to support the repatriation process of Afghan migrants.
