Tajikistan’s National Security Committee has confirmed that the country is deporting illegal migrants and said that many migrants have recently entered the country unlawfully.

According to a press release from the committee, Tajik authorities discovered during their investigations that the arrival of illegal migrants has led to incidents involving drug trafficking, the spread of extremism, the use of fake documents to seek asylum, and attempts to use Tajikistan as a transit route to other countries.

The statement says that due to these issues, Tajikistan has already deported some Afghan refugees and will continue to expel those who violate the country’s laws.
