Reason behind the rally in iron ore & coking coke overnight to a X month high US$97.84/ton = R1,723 a ton is as below

YTD iron ore is still basically flat (start of year US$98.33 a ton but at weaker rand = R1,842/ton. Iron ore in Rand has weakened -XXX% YTD

China announces it plans world's largest hydro-electric dam in Tibet that will demand X - 4x the quantum of steel than the already giant Three Gorges dam (22,000Mw) 

The mega-project in the foothills of the Himalayas will include five  hydropower stations on the river, which is also known as the  Brahmaputra, further downstream in India, and the Jamuna River in  Bangladesh

The project is expected to cost an estimated XXX trillion yuan ($167.1bn) with India having raised serious concerns
