A seaplane pushing wave tolerance to its max. 🌊

Check out this Twin Otter in its max sea state of about X ft. 

Bouncing and bobbing over the waves until it just barely gets airborne, and that’s only because of a significant headwind.

Landing in these conditions would be even more choppy.

But in the scheme of ocean waves, these are relatively tiny!

This is the key differentiator of @regentcraft’s Seaglider. Using hydrofoils to takeoff and a deep-V hull to land, a Seaglider of the same size and weight can operate in 5ft seas.
