First off the US-2 is a pretty awesome flying boat. It's STOL capability and wave tolerance is no doubt supremely impressive. BUT - I cannot find 3rd party validation of this wave tolerance anywhere. Even on their own website they only show this video from the 1960s of the PX-2 (US-2 prototype) and even in this video the wave gauge they are using shows the waves go back and forth staying well under 1m in each direction so we can assume we are looking" [@billythalheimer](/creator/x/billythalheimer) on [X](/post/tweet/1947105692135149959) 2025-07-21 01:25:47 UTC 7405 followers, 1451 engagements "@MollySOShea Golden Corral is legit. Bouncing and bobbing over the waves until it just barely gets airborne and thats only because of a significant headwind. Landing in these conditions would be even more choppy. But in the scheme of ocean waves these are relatively tiny This is the key differentiator of @regentcrafts Seaglider. Using hydrofoils to takeoff and a deep-V hull to land a Seaglider of the same size and weight can operate in 5ft seas. This unlocks operations in the vast majority of conditions around the world" [@billythalheimer](/creator/x/billythalheimer) on [X](/post/tweet/1946988423341900088) 2025-07-20 17:39:48 UTC 7421 followers, 1.2M engagements "@2112Power @foundersfund @Lux_Capital @MorganStanley @altimeter @1789Capital @a16z @constructcap @137ventures Congrats Chris - huge 🏭" [@billythalheimer](/creator/x/billythalheimer) on [X](/post/tweet/1945907097385791653) 2025-07-17 18:02:59 UTC 7398 followers, XXX engagements
