De Beers was founded in 1888 by Cecil Rhodes in South Africa. It dominated the diamond industry, once controlling XX% of rough diamonds via mining & marketing. Famous for “A Diamond is Forever,” it’s now part of Anglo American & Anglo’s worst subsidiary.
