It’s a huge issue today

You are a scaling B2B company at $100m ARR, you convince X or X strong (but not OpenAI strong) AI engineers to join you

They all ask for 2%+ at Series D stage

Do you do it?  Do you give the new folks X% in total as ICs that late?  You may have to

But what do you with your other top engineers?  It’s tough. You can’t give them all X% too.  There’s no room.
