The alternative for the Lakers was paying Dorian Finney-Smith all the money they had and limiting roster flexibility. Now, they're banking on Jake LaRavia supplying about XX% of what Finney-Smith provided at half the cost. Could it go south? Sure. But it's a good gamble.
