The case, dubbed a national scandal, began when high-ranking monk Phra Thep Wachirapamok went missing; police later found he had fled to Laos after Emsawat threatened to expose their affair. Emsawat, also known as "Sika Golf," is accused of an "industrial-scale blackmail operation." She reportedly told police she developed relationships with monks, who then "lavished" her with gifts, including a Mercedes. When gifts slowed, she allegedly coerced money through sex-tape blackmail & phony paternity lawsuits. Prosecutors claim she looted one monk's six-figure life savings by promising to start a ceramics business, & he later took temple funds to give her more money. Some monks reportedly still wore their robes during trysts. Emsawat's ex-husband, a local politician, stated he left her because she spent evenings phoning monks for "donations." Bangkok police estimate her total haul was over $XX million, which Emsawat claimed she blew on online gambling. When police raided Emsawat’s luxurious home near Bangkok, they reportedly found over XXXXXX compromising photos & videos of her trysts with monks, captured with at least five recording devices.
