To those who were not taught good financial literacy: if you make a minimum payment that is less than the interest portion of your loan, then the principal on your loan grows. This is what you agreed to when you took the loan. The document you signed when you took the loan explains this.

Student loan interest rates are set by the government. This isn't some predatory lender, it's Congress that sets the rate.
