I am often asked, why Blaise Pascal has become the mascot for The Daily Compounder. It is a fair point. After all he was a mathematician turned theologian and had little to nothing to do with the world of investing. Fair, but similar to Pascal I too have a wager. 

My wager, similar to Pascals is logically cohesive and is inspired by the famous Pascals Wager which stated belief in God was a hedged bet and that if there was no God and you believed you lost nothing, but if there is a God and you did not, you lost everything. 

My wager, the Deep Value Wager spun out of the last 10+ years of value stocks being crushed and ignored by markets. The wager states that I will continue to buy businesses that are absolutely cheap and attractive based on the value principles dating back to the 1970s and Tweedy Browne and if it does not work investing in public markets is not a repeatable process and we are happy to admit we have no special skill set, however, if it does work we will have positioned ourselves exceptionally well ahead of one of the greatest reversions back to value principles in modern times.
