Brycson Gaddis, 20, has been arrested in California in connection with the murder of Elyjiah Hearn, 5, whose body was found deceased in a Panorama City dumpster on Saturday, July XX. A law enforcement official told the Los Angeles Times that Elyjiah suffered extensive injuries, including fractured ribs, a fractured jaw, & a lacerated liver. Elyjiah's grandfather stated Gaddis previously dated the boy's 24-year-old mother. The grandfather accused Gaddis of kidnapping Elyjiah & his mother near a store, then taking them to an apartment complex not far from where Elyjiah's body was found. Police located & questioned the mother before releasing her. Two other children found at the apartment complex are now in the care of the Los Angeles County Department of Children & Family Services. Elyjiah was autistic, & his grandfather described him as loving despite his slow speech. Three other people were detained but eventually released, while a fourth person was arrested on unrelated charges.
