Hero schoolboy Isiah, 16, cried on the witness stand as he recounted saving his girlfriend, Fatima Ali, now 18, from an alleged "honor killing" attempt by her parents. Prosecutors say Fatima was nearly killed in a chokehold by her father, Ihsan Ali, after refusing an arranged marriage in Iraq. Isiah told the Thurston County Superior Court in Washington that he punched Fatima's father, Ihsan Ali, 44, "30 or XX times" to stop the attack outside Timberline High School on October XX. Isiah said Fatima's face was pale & her eyes were rolling back before he broke down in tears, pausing his testimony. Ihsan & his wife Zahraa Subhi Mohsin Ali, 40, are charged with second-degree attempted murder & attempted kidnapping. Fatima testified she fled home at X AM with minimal belongings to avoid a one-way trip to Najaf, Iraq. Isiah, escorting Fatima to a bus stop for a youth crisis center, encountered Ihsan. Ihsan allegedly grabbed Fatima's shoulder, then punched Isiah, sending him staggering back. Isiah then witnessed Ihsan spin Fatima around, put her in a "headlock" on the ground, & choke her even after she lost consciousness. Isiah kept punching Ihsan until his "eyes closed and his grip released." He broke a finger during the ordeal. When Ihsan was restrained by a motorist, Fatima's mother, Zahraa, & eldest sister, Haneen, 21, reportedly arrived. Isiah claimed Zahraa then grabbed Fatima around her throat. Fatima testified her consciousness slipped away in her father's grasp & she was "scared I was going to die."
