Why didn't Ferrari switch to push-rod rear suspension with their latest suspension upgrade?

Since I get asked or see this being suggested a lot, I thought I'd make a technical report on the changes, implications and considerations that need to be made when making a switch to push-rod rear.

Perhaps this can give some perspective on the complexity of the situation. This is just my understanding of it, things I've thought of when asked this question.
