Until she got shot by an Israeli quadcopter, the bullet piercing through her neck and esophagus, perforating her lungs, and damaging her cervical spine. Because of the occupation, Dina is now paralyzed. The Sameer Project recently visited Dina to bring her nutritional support and emotional support as she remains bedridden. After months of not being able to consume solid food and becoming extremely malnourished, she can finally eat independently. We supplied her with fresh vegetables to aid in her healing and will return with additional assistance. Almost more importantly our team sat with Dina as she wrote poems and drew, we gave her comic books to lift her spirits, and we remain in contact to refer Dina to our mental health project @techmed_gaza. Dina, like so many others is awaiting medical evacuation for advanced care. She needs rehabilitation and perhaps additional surgeries to help her gain some functionality and independence back.
