YouTuber Lauren Southern, 30, has accused controversial influencer Andrew Tate of sexually assaulting her & choking her unconscious. In an upcoming memoir, Southern alleges Tate attacked her in Bucharest, Romania, in 2018 when she was 22, after she flew there to discuss a business proposal. Tate’s attorney, Joseph D. McBride, issued a "furious denial," stating Tate "unequivocally repudiates the pathetic filth peddled" by Southern & will "pursue Southern relentlessly for defamation." Southern described a dinner with Tate that turned "off," followed by an invitation to his compound, but instead, they went to a nightclub where she vomited after one cocktail. She alleges Tate then picked her up, put her in a car, took her back to her hotel room, & forced himself on her. Southern wrote she "said no, very clearly, multiple times, & tried to pull his hands off me." As she tried to fight back, Tate "put his arm around my neck & began strangling me unconscious," allegedly continuing to strangle her every time she "regained enough consciousness" to push him off. Southern stated that reading news about other alleged assaults by Tate that matched her experiences led to her leaving far-right politics. She published the chapters detailing the alleged incident for free, stating she didn't want to "profit off this incident." Tate faces numerous criminal charges in the UK & Romania, including rape & human trafficking, & is also accused of threatening a woman with a gun & violently sexually assaulting another ex-girlfriend, all of which he denies.
