Pamela Stanley, 48, has been indicted in Texas on charges of solicitation to commit murder, criminal attempt to commit murder, & possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver. She is accused of attempting to kill her ex-husband, Jeffrey Kauth, with fentanyl-laced chocolates. An arrest affidavit states that on May 30, Stanley drove to a motel in Weatherford to pick up fentanyl she had purchased from an undercover investigator. Authorities were tipped off by a "complainant" that "a female subject had called them stating that she had developed a plan to kill her ex-husband with powder fentanyl." Officials allege Stanley planned to mail the poisoned chocolates to her ex-husband, disguised as a congratulatory gift from a travel agency for his recent engagement, along with a "honeymoon" incentive offer. Jeffrey Kauth stated, "it was a pretty ingenious plan," adding he & his fiancée, and even their two minor children, would likely have eaten the chocolates. Kauth said he & Stanley divorced in 2019, & "she's just been angry since," sending him "numerous texts and threatening situations" that led him to install surveillance cameras on his property. Stanley has been held for over a month on a $XXXXXXX bond.
