A long-haired Chihuahua is being hailed a "four-legged hero" after it led rescuers to its owner, a man who had fallen XX feet into a crevasse on Fee Glacier in southern Switzerland. The man was exploring the glacier with his dog when he suddenly broke through a snow bridge.

While the man was stuck in the glacier ice, his Chihuahua remained at the edge. The man fortunately had a walkie-talkie and was able to contact someone who called emergency services. Despite being notified, rescuers found it difficult to pinpoint the exact location of the accident on the wide glacier surface, as the hole was "barely visible."

However, a rescue specialist spotted a small movement: the Chihuahua pacing right next to "the collapse hole." Air Zermatt, the Swiss helicopter rescue company, stated, "Thanks to the dog’s behavior, the crew was able to locate the exact site of the accident." The dog remained still throughout the entire rescue operation, closely watching the specialists. The man was successfully saved from the crevasse and flown to a hospital in Visp with his heroic companion. An Air Zermatt spokesman emphasized, "I have no idea what would happen to this guy. I think he wouldn’t survive this fall" if the dog hadn't been there.
