@moyo54 For bonds, its same problem. So many are better off with a bond (of fixed income) fund.

Only Equity offers some respite, since entry amount is low. 

But then again, for those who lack knowedge/skill, they need expert guidance to DIY equity investing.

Overall, it all depends.
