Bill Ackman and Dr. Potter accused UnitedHealth ($UNH) of wrongdoing, claiming the company demanded she take a call mid-surgery—yet provided no proof.

UNH responded with a detailed defamation letter, stating they never made such a request and likely have a recording to prove it.

Evidence suggests it was likely a misunderstanding, not misconduct.

Dr. Potter’s business was financially struggling, and she attempted to bill $110,000+ for an overnight stay, which she claimed would financially destroy the patient if denied—yet it’s her own clinic that would charge that amount.

So far, Dr. Potter hasn’t addressed or denied UNH’s evidence.

👉 Bottom line: UNH came prepared, Ackman shared no proof, and Potter’s motive may be financial, not purely ethical.
