Meanwhile, Andhra Pradesh aggressively attracted many premier institutions. 🔹 Central Government Institutes in Andhra Pradesh (Post Bifurcation) • IIT Tirupati • IIM Visakhapatnam • AIIMS Mangalagiri • IISER Tirupati • NIT Tadepalligudem • NID Amaravati • IIITDM Kurnool • IIFT Kakinada • School of Planning and Architecture Amaravati • National Law University (planned) 🔹 Private and PPP Institutes in AP • BITS (proposed) • XLRI (proposed) • VIT, SRM, Amrita (present but not nationally top tier) 🔹 Telangana’s Institutional Tally ✅ After Bifurcation (2014 to present) • AIIMS Bibinagar , the only major Central institute added ✅ Before Bifurcation UPA and CBN Era • IIT Hyderabad • BITS Hyderabad(private) • TIFR Hyderabad • TISS Hyderabad • ISB Hyderabad (private) • NALSAR University • IIIT Hyderabad( PPP) 🔹 Concerns for Telangana • IIM proposals were repeatedly rejected • No other central institutes like NID, SPA, IIFT ,IISER etc. • Limited follow through or lobbying by successive state governments • Despite Hyderabad’s infrastructure and talent pool, Centre’s support has been minimal Telangana missed critical opportunities post bifurcation. @revanth_anumula A serious course correction is needed to claim its rightful share of national institutions and premier institutes.
