I think Costco $COST shareholders fail to recognize what may be the #1 most important thing responsible for their success.

I'm talking the death of the sedan and the American obsession with big vehicles.

This occurred after oil prices peaked at $XXX in 2007, crashed, and never looked back.

What would be considered a monster truck in the 90s is now normal... and everyone drives one. They are so large, they no longer fit in standard garages.

The Pontiac Grand Am and Ford Taurus were replaced with mom missiles. Ready to haul home multiple carts of crap.

Would Costco be able to sell so much if this vehicle transition never happened?
