In Valley City, ND, this house is for rent at $600/mo.

A few miles out of town, there's a railroad hiring track laborers at $30/hr -- that's $1000/wk at full time.

The opportunities in ND are unreal. Could be saving ~$28k/yr if you were frugal.

If people did "tours of duty" in places like ND, they'd be doing themselves and the whole country a real service. Imagine heading up to Valley City for a 4-year "enlistment" where you live in this house, work on that railroad, live on the cheapest food, adopt a disposition of intense financial austerity....
