Reese was one of four friends, including Ella Cahill, Joyce Badon, & Aidan Heartfield, staying at a country house in Hunt, Kerr County, to celebrate the Fourth of July weekend when a "30-foot tsunami wall of water" from the Guadalupe River swept their home away. Reese's body was recovered on Monday, July 7, after an extensive search. Joyce Badon's body was also found on Monday, & Ella Cahill's was recovered on Tuesday. As of Thursday afternoon, Aidan Heartfield remains missing. The group's final communication was a frantic phone call to Aidan’s father, Thad Heartfield, with Joyce telling him they "just got washed away." The catastrophic flooding, described by a meteorologist as the deadliest inland flooding in the US since 1976, has claimed at least XXX lives across Texas, with XXX people still believed to be missing. Most of the confirmed fatalities, at least 103, are in Kerr County, an area prone to flash floods.
