Recently, Mexc placed $VOI in a β30 day assessment zoneβ for a second time. Each time Mexc set $VOI in an assessment zone, Mexc imposed certain metrics to maintain a listing. The Voi Council reviewed these metrics β in both instances β and, most recently, the Voi Council determined the effort and resources necessary to maintain the $VOI listing on Mexc were not in the best interest of the Voi community. To put it simply, the remedy to maintain a token listing for $VOI was at odds with the ideals for the Voi Council and community β most notably the use of inauthentic frequency trading, large deposits of $VOI (sequestering away from node and DeFi rewards) and heavy promotion by the Voi Council to the community to use a platform that is largely geofenced from much of the Voi community. Also, there has been very little evidence of community onboarding/expansion from the Mexc listing. By acquiescing to the delisting, the Voi Council (and Block Authority/Voi Cayman) can focus on liquidity programs (on Voi, Algorand, Base and Arbitrum), DeFi incentives (on Humble, Nomadex and soon and many more initiatives underway in the grant process. There is no reason to sugar coat this news. Itβs disappointing to see $VOI without a centralized listing partner. We appreciate Mexc providing $VOI with a platform β but the juice is not worth the squeeze, in the view of the Voi Council (and me, personally). We have learned a lot over the past X months in Mainnet for a community driven blockchain. This is the latest development that helps the Voi community identify what does and does not help the ecosystem grow. Key point β WITHDRAW YOUR $VOI FROM MEXC IMMEDIATELY. It is unclear when Mexc will no longer support withdraws of $VOI, so remove it without haste. Presently, Mexc has approximately XXXX million $VOI, so there is some work to do to fully withdraw from the exchange. With any $VOI you withdraw from Mexc, be sure to consider the APR available at Humble and Nomadex on Voi, Pact and Tinyman on Algorand, Uniswap on Base and, of course, running a node. Thank you for your ongoing support.
