Cruz shared the story during a 2023 episode of Planeta Calleja, recalling that Gates arrived with a 25-person entourage. While his guests enjoyed the full experience, Gates simply sipped his soda and left for his plane. “Zero,” Cruz said when asked if Gates tried any food. “We had prepared the best dishes for him to eat.” The restaurant had been closed to other guests during the visit, and Cruz admitted feeling baffled by the situation. “Do you think you have to close a nice place to come and drink a cola?” he asked, laughing about the experience but still clearly surprised.
