Antle, who owns Myrtle Beach Safari, pleaded guilty in November 2023, & is scheduled for sentencing today, July 8, in federal court in Charleston, South Carolina. Prosecutors stated Antle sold or bought cheetahs, lions, tigers, & a chimpanzee without proper paperwork. He also laundered over $XXXXXXX that an informant stated was used to get people into the U.S. illegally to work. Antle's scheme involved charging hundreds or thousands of dollars for people to pet baby animals like lions, tigers, & monkeys. His criminal actions came to light after the "Tiger King" series debuted. Several of Antle’s employees have already been sentenced for their roles in his schemes. Antle was also convicted in 2023 in a Virginia court for four counts of wildlife trafficking, receiving a two-year suspended prison sentence.
